Marika and Charles Contompasis are the sister and brother design team who together, create the Marika Charles collection. Marika has been a knitwear designer for 20 years. Her collections have been carried by some of the most prestigious retailers in the country, including Ron Herman, Fred Segal, and Bergdorf-Goodman. Her private clients include several A-list celebrities. She previously collaborated with other designers creating sweaterand home collections.

Charles has designed and produced fabrics for 30 years. His career began with his original hand painted designs using the name Keryakos. Production of these designs led to his creation of Keryakos Inc. That company grew and became a state of the art textile printing facility producing millions of yards of fabric annually. During those years, Charles continued as an artist/graphic designer. In 1996 he sold the printing plant and created a new studio focused on original design and limited production of fabrics.

The studio uses elements of traditional technology, and his own creative methods. As a result, Charles now has been issued several patents and a trademark for his method of coloring garments. The process is trademarked Phly-Dye®. Its use in the Marika Charles collection has provided a unique and distinctive look. The Studio has an extensive library of original designs.
